Henry Wilson (junior) was born in 1892 at Carlton on Trent, he was the son of Henry Wilson (senior) a farmer and his first wife Elizabeth Mary Wilson née Barnstone of Carlton-on-Trent, Notts. His father Henry (senior) was born in 1863 at Sutton Trent, his mother Elizabeth Mary Branstone was born in 1863 also at Sutton Trent they were married in 1887 their marriage was recorded in the Newark Registration district they had 2 children, John b 1889 and Henry b1892. Henry (senior) married his second wife Fanny Nichols (born 1891 Pinchbeck, Lincolnshire,) in 1902 their marriage was recorded in the Spalding registration district, they had a further 3 children, William b1904, Alice b1906 and Edward b1908, In 1911 the family are living at Carlton on Trent, Henry is 48 yrs and a farmer, he is living with his second wife Fanny 30 yrs and his 5 children, including Henry 19 yrs a general farm worker.

Military History

Private Henry Wilson enlisted at Newark whilst residing at Carlton on Trent, he initially served with the service number 4600 with the Leicestershire Regiment, and later with the Sherwood Foresters Regiment and later with the 29th company Labour Corps. He died on 8th November 1918 of illness at the 30th General Hospital, Calais and is buried at Les Baraques Military Cemetery, Sangatte, Pas de Calais, France.
