Harty Batham Hunt

Harty was born in 1884 at Loughborough, in Leicestershire the son of William a framework knitter (silk) and Mary Hunt nee Batham, of Derry Mount , Arnold. His father was born in 1845 in Loughborough , Leicestershire and his mother Mary Batham was born in 1858 in Kensington, Middlesex , they were married on 12th April 1875 at Hawick, Roxburgh, Scotland. They had 5 children , sadly 1 died in infancy prior to 1911 , their surviving children were Ernest b1878 Notting Hill London, William b1880 Loughborough, George b1882 Loughborough and Harty b1884 Loughborough . By the 1901 census the family have settled in Arnold living at West Street, Arnold. In the 1911 census his parents William and Mary are living at Derrymount, Arnold and are shown as William 66 yrs a framework knitter, and Mary 53 yrs , all the children appear to have left the family home. It has not been possible to trace Harty in the 1911 census. He was married to his wife Ellen Rennocks in 1915, their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration District. They went on to have a son George William Hunt born February 1916, they lived at 19 West Street, Arnold, Nottingham. Following his death his widow Ellen was awarded a pension of 18 shillings and 9 pence a week which commenced on 1st October 1917.
