Family History

Alfred was born at Daybrook in 1889, the son of William and Elizabeth Horton of Barrows Row, Daybrook, being educated at the British School Arnold he had 7 siblings. He was married to Florence Matilda and had a daughter Annie Horton. In the 1911 census he is still living with his father at Barrows Row, by this time his father is a widow, he is also shown there with his wife Florie who was 24 years of age and from Cardiff, he is 22 years of age and a cattle dealers labourer they have been married for a year and have a daughter Annie 1 year of age . Some time after his death his wife Florence Matilda Horton, remarried to become Florence Matilda Guy and she lived at 17 Draytons Yard, Arnold.

Military History

Having enlisted at Hucknall into the Lincolnshire Regiment, Arthur was posted to their 1st Battalion. He died of wounds.
