William Henry Whysall

William Henry Whysall was the son of William Henry Whysall and Martha Slater who married in the Basford registration district in 1894. Their children included: William Henry (b.1896), Martha (b.1899), Walter (b.1901) and Hannah Elizabeth (b.1903). The Whysalls lived at 5 Ebury Terrace, Commercial Street, Lenton in 1901. William Henry Whysall senior, who worked as a miner, died at Nottingham, in 1903, aged 30. In 1911 Martha Whysall, now a widow, was living with her children at 5 Pine Street, Radford. Also living there was Thomas Jennings, aged 44, a coal miner who was boarding with them. Given there was also a further child, Emily Ann J. Whysall (b.1906) the likelihood this was Thomas Jennings’ daughter. Martha Whysall had one further child Annie M. (b.1911). She appears not to have remarried and if so died at Nottingham, aged 78 in 1951.
