James Warner

James Warner was the son of John Warner and Eliza Jaques who married in Radford St Peter’s Church in October 1878. Their children included: John William (b.1878), Samuel (b.1881), Mary Jane [Worner} (b.1884), James [Worner] (b.1888), George Henry (b.1896) and Thomas (b.1898). The Warner family lived at:1 Railway Yard, Ilkeston Road, Radford [C.1881]; 1 Miall Street, Old Radford [Radford St Peter’s christening of James 11.3.1888]; 89 Kennington Road, Radford [C.1891, C.1901 & C.1911]. John Warner, who was employed as a coal miner, died at Nottingham, aged 64, in 1921. In 1923 his widow, Eliza Warner, married George E. Sonyeard. She appears to have died at Nottingham, aged 82, in 1945. In 1907 James Warner married May Emily Sherwood at Nottingham. Their children included Lilian (b.1909) and Emily M. (b.1914). In 1911 the couple were living at 8 Yates Yard, Radford Marsh, Radford. In 1915 the electoral registers reveal James Warner as resident at 69 Dorset Street, Radford and this was the address mentioned in the death notice inserted by his wife in the local newspaper [n.e.p.13.7.1916]. His widow appears to have married Jack Bearder at Nottingham in 1917. She died at Nottingham, aged 82, in 1969.
