Family History

Albert Edward Mills was the son of Albert Edward Mills and Bella Briggs who married in the Basford registration district in 1892. Their children included: John Harold/Henry (b.1893/d.1901), Elizabeth Alice (b.1897), Albert Edward (b.1899) and Randal James (b.1903). The Mills family lived at: 24 Deakin’s Place, Radford [C.1901]; 9 Deakin’s Place, Radford [C.1911]. In 1913 Albert Edward Mills senior, employed as a bricklayer’s labourer, died at Nottingham, aged 48, in 1913. His widow, Bella, then married Enoch Smith at Nottingham in 1916. Her address was still 9 Deakin’s Place, Radford when CWGC complied their records. Bella Smith eventually died at Nottingham, aged 73, in 1943.
