Harry White
He attended Queen Elizabeth School from 1933 to 1938 and worked as a clerk pre-enlistment.
White was a clever footballer at school.

He was the son of John and Mary E White, of Walkden Street, Mansfield, Nottinghamshire.
Siblings: Esme born in 1921 and Mary in 1928.

Marine Harry White lost his life in the famous action when the battlecruiser, HMS Hood was struck on May 24th 1941.
He joined the Royal Navy in July 1939 and was trained as a Heavy Anti-Aircraft Gunner. He was engaged in operations of the Norway Landings in 1940 and later in the Mediterranean and on the Atlantic Convoy escort duties.
He was also in the attack on the French Fleet at Oran.
