John Henry Reid
He attended Fredericton High School where he met his future wife Glaidus. He was a member of the basketball team which became New Brunswick champions and was also a good baseball catcher.
The 700 High School pupils had raised $2,500 for British ai raid victims which made many of the young men anxious to finish their sudies in order to begin military training to help Britain's war effort. John left school in 1942 being described by a minister as a boy with an 'upright character and straightforward sincerity.'
