Family history

James Percival Boote (junior) was born in in 1885 the son of the late James Percival Boote (senior) and Ann Elizabeth Boote née Hopkinson of 6, Constance Grove, Wilford Road, Nottingham.

His father James Percival Boote (senior) was born in 1853 at Manchester he died in 1898 aged 46 yrs, they were married on 16th May 1882 at East Retford, they had 3 children,

He had two sisters Ethel and Eveline. By 1901, James's father had already died living his widow Ann Elizabeth to bring up the family at 231 Hyde Road, Manchester.

By 1911 the family had moved to 18 North Parade Grantham Anne Elizabeth Boote 53 yrs a widow is living with her children, Ethel Beatrice 28 yrs working at home,James Percival 26 yrs an engineers clerk and Eveline Gladys 13 yrs a scholar.

Military history

Private James Percival Boote enlisted at Preston he served with the 1st battalion Loyal North Lancashire regiment and went to France on 27th April 1915. He was killed in action on 10th May 1915, he is buried at Bethune Town Cemetery Pas-De-Calais France Grave Reference: III C 6
