Son of Charles William Newman (CWGC). At the time of the 1911 census Charles (50), a carpenter, and his wife, Fanny (40) a lace curtain machinist, were living at 22 Wickens Terrace, Livingstone Street, Nottingham. Living with them were their three children, Charles (12, b. 1899), John A (10) and Doris M (7) and Charles' sister-in-law, Nelly Boardman (26, single, cigar sorter).
