Family History

He was the son of Alfred Augustus and Mary Ann Scales. At the time of the 1911 census, when he was 27, he was living with his parents at 37 Tichborne Street, Leicester, with his brothers Ewart Gordon (25) and Arthur Alfred (22). He was married to Kate Gertrude nee Drayton, in the registration district of Taunton in 1913 (Apr/May/June). They were living at 22 Caledon Road, Sherwood, Nottingham, at the time of his death.
