John Wilson was born in 1887 at Nottingham. He married Lilian Truman (born 10th September 1891 ) at Nottingham, in 1911 they had a child John born 30th December 1910 (born before wedlock ) they lived at 17 Meredith Street Nottingham. Commencing 17th April 1916 his widow was awarded a pension of 15 shillings a week.
Rifleman John Wilson enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 2nd battalion King's Royal Rifle Corps, he was killed in action on 25th September 1915, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Loos Memorial
