He was the son of Albert and Charlotte Diggle and the brother of Jane Ann, Charles Herbert and John Stanley Diggle. In 1911 they lived at 16 Bertram Street, Nottingham. He was the husband of Rebecca Diggle (née Thompson) of 61 Hazel Street, Bulwell, Nottingham.
