Family History

Joseph was born in 1884 in Nottingham and was the son of Joseph (senior) and Betsy Bosworth, née Baildham. His father was born in 1857 at Mansfield, his mother in 1857 at Horncastle, Lincolnshire. Married at Nottingham, they had eleven children. Joseph's siblings surviving infancy were Henry b.1881, Harwood b.1883, Arthur b.1886, James b.1889, Christopher b.1890, Walter b.1893, Nellie b.1895, Herbert b.1897 and Jenny b.1899. Joseph (junior) married Geraldine Beardsall in Nottingham in 1906 and they had three children. Two survived infancy: Joseph b.1908 in Nottingham and Geraldine b.1910 in Sheffield. In 1911 they lived at 18 Finkhill Street Nottingham. Joseph and his family lived in Sheffield.

Military History

Joseph Bosworth enlisted at Nottingham. He landed in France on 20th September 1914. He died of wounds on 1st December 1917. Cambrai Memorial Panel 2
