He was the son of Albert and Annie Williams He was born at Arnold in the Third Quarter 1895 On 1901 Census he is living with his parents and siblings – Arthur and Dorothy - at Tine Cottages, Redhill, Arnold. His father is listed as a miner. On 1911 Census he is living with his parents and siblings – Arthur, Dorothy and Ernest – at Redhill, Arnold. His father is listed as a colliery banksman and Albert as a colliery banks lad.
He enlisted in the 1st / 1st (Nottinghamshire) battery Royal Horse Artillery in April 1915 Entered theatre 13th October 1915 Renumbered 612142 in 1917 At the time of his death he was attached to 19th Brigade Ammunition Column He is buried in Damascus Commonwealth War Cemetery , Syria grave reference B 104
He is not shown on Arnold War Memorial Listed as A. Henry Williams on 1914-1915 Star Roll so possible known as Henry to distinguish him from his father.
