Family History

Ernest Warren was baptised on 29th March 1896 at All Saints Church, Wellingborough, he was the son of Samuel a blast furnace charger and Mary Ann Warren née Smith of 22 The Buildings, Austin Street, Bulwell. His father Samuel was born in 1870 at Wellingborough, his mother Mary Ann Smith was born in 1869 at Irthingborough, Northamptonshire, they were married on 25th December 1894 at All Saints Church, Wellingborough, they had 3 children, sadly one died in infancy or early childhood, their other surviving child was Albert born 1903. In the 1911 census the family are living at 11 Asfordby Hill, Leicestershire, Samuel 41 yrs is a blast furnace charger, he is living with his wife Mary 40 yrs and their children, Ernest 15 yrs a labourer and Albert 8 yrs of age.

Military History

Private Ernest Warren enlisted at Derby whilst residing at Bulell, he served with the 11th battalion Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was killed in action on 5th October 1918 and is buried Beaurevoir British Cemetery, France. Row D. Grave 19.
