Arthur Pinkett was born in 1899 at Bulwell, he was the son of Lot Pinkett a coal drawer and Martha Pinkett née Binch of 22 Minerva Street, Bulwell. His father Lot was born in 1853 and his mother Martha Binch was born in 1855 both were born at Bulwell, they were married in 1875 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district, they went on to have 9 children, sadly two were to die in infancy or early childhood. In the 1911 census the family were living at 22 Minerva Street, Bulwell, Lot Pinkett 58 yrs is a caol drawer, he is living with his wife Martha 55 yrs and their children, Sam 36 yrs a coal miner loader, Lot 25 yrs a bleach hand, Dan 25 yrs a coal miner hewer, Albert 22 yrs a coal miner hewer, Martha 19 yrs, Lilian 14 yrs and Arthur 12 yrs of age.

Military History

Private Arthur Pinkett enlisted at Bulwell, he initially served with the service number 203749 in the North Staffordshire Regiment, he was killed in action on 24th March 1918, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Arras Memorial
