Family History

William's father was William Oliver a tailor born in 1861 at Basford. He married Kate Radford in 1887 in the Basford Registration district. Their children, all born at Bulwell, were William b.1888, Eva b.1891, Jennie b.1894, Nellie b.1896 and Frank b.1900. In 1891, the family lived on Austin Street, Bulwell and by 1901 had moved to 34, Forest Road, Nottingham. William married Emma Patterson (born 10th January 1888) in 1910 at Nottingham. Their son, Arthur, was born 30th September 1910. In 1911, they lived with William's parents and sister Eva at 7, St Alban's Road and later at 21, Bancroft Street (both Bulwell). With effect from 21/4/1919, Emma was awarded a weekly pension of 20/5d.
