He was the son of John Thomas and Annie Maria Buckland and the brother of Cyril, Hilda, Mabel, Leslie and Freddy Buckland, In 1911 they lived at 39 Northcote Street Bulwell Nottingham. He was the husband of Eliza (née Applegate) Buckland and the father of Horace Buckland.
