George Harold Fozzard

George Harold Fozzard was born in 1889 in Nottingham and was the son of George Henry carver and gilder and the late Alice Fozzard née Manilove. His father George Henry Fozzard was born in 1863 at Lowestoft, Suffolk and working as a carver and gilder. his mother Alice Manilove was born in 1866 in Nottingham, they were married in 1888 in Nottingham and went on to have a further child which died in infancy. His mother Alice died in Nottingham in October 1891 she was 25 yrs of age. By 1901 Florence Archer was working as housekeeper in the house. She was born in 1870 at Bow, London. The family lived at 3 Radcliffe Street, Nottingham before moving to 16 Elkington Terrace, Glapton Road, Nottingham which is where they were on the 1911 census and are shown as George Henry 48 yrs a carver and gilder, he is living with his son George Harold 21 yrs a frame maker and Florence Marion Archer 41 yrs and single a visitor. George Harold married Lily Mary Cooke in 1914 in Nottingham they lived at 2 Ambergate Terrace, Meadow Lane, Nottingham. Following his death his widow Lily Mary was notified by letter from the Ministry of Pensions dated 5th April 1918 that she would be receiving a pension of 13 shillings and nine pence a week with effect from 22nd April 1918.
