Albert Rockley was born in 1891at Nottingham and was the son of John Rockley a stationary engine driver and Mary Jane Rockley, née Blood of 27 Springfield Street, Nottingham. His father John was born in 1843 at Burton Joyce, his mother Mary Jane Blood was born in 1851 at Ruddington, they were married in 1872, their marriage was recorded in the Basford Registration District. They went on to have a daughter Mary Jane b1886 also in Nottingham. Both his parents appear to have died before the 1911 census , his father John died in 1909 aged 66 yrs and his mother Mary Jane also died in 1909 aged 58 yrs both died in Nottingham. In the 1911 census both Albert and his sister Mary Jane are boarders, living at 23 Springfield Street, Nottingham, Albert is 20 yrs a pawnbrokers assistant, his sister Mary Jane is 25 yrs and a cigarette maker, they are living with George Paling 61 yrs a machine builders labourer and his family
