Family History

Isaac Eathrington was born in 1873 in Nottingham and was the son of John and Eliza Eatherington née Hewlatt. His father John was born in 1848 in, London and his mother Eliza was born in 1845 in Daybrook, Nottingham, they were married in C1866 and went on to have the following children, Eliza b1867, John James b1869, Isaac b1873 and Thomas B1876, all of whom were born in Nottingham. His father John died in 1877 in Nottingham he was 29 yrs of age. Isaac married his wife Sarah Richards in 1908 in Nottingham, they lived at 32, Hollis St., New Basford, Nottingham. In the 1911 census the family are living at 32 Hollis Street, New Basford, and are shown as Isaac 39 yrs a railway shunter, he is living with his wife Sarah 46 yrs (b1865 Basford) and his widowed mother Eliza 66 yrs.

Military History

Pte. Isaac Eatherington, enlisted on 27th August 1914 at Nottingham, he served with the 3rd Battalion Nottinghamshire & Derbyshire Regiment, he died of heart failure on 22nd September 1915 at Whitburn, Sunderland. He is buried in Nottingham (New Basford) Cemetery, grave reference G.4.6.
