He was the son of David Trimnel and Monica Gertrude Rippon of 9 Johnson Road Nottingham and the brother of Charles Dickens, Dorothy Kate, Jessie May, Suie and Monica Trimnel Rippon.

Military History

He was killed at Neuve Chappelle. Of the battalion's eighteen officers who went into action nine were killed and seven wounded. From the ranks ninety were killed, two hundred and sixty five wounded and eighty seven reported missing - an overall casualty rate in excess of 50%.
