Family History

Charles Heathcote Neep was born in 1885 at Leicester, he was the son of John Heathcote Heep a traveller and his first wife Adelaide Tasmin Noon of Bright Street, Derby Road, Nottingham. His father John Heathcote Neep was born in 1861 at Nottingham, his mother Adelaide Tasmin Noon was born in 1867 at Leicester, she died in 1895 aged 33 yrs, they had the following children, Ethel Tamsin born 1885 Charles Heathcoteborn 1885 and John b1887. Following his mothers death his father re married in 1896 at Leicester to Elizabeth Noon born 1867 Leicester, they had 2 further children sadly both of which died in infancy or early childhood. In the 1911 census the family are living at Noel Villas, Bright Street, Derby Road, Nottingham, John Heathcot Neep is 50 yrs and is a traveller, he is living with his second wife Elizabeth 44 yrs and his children, Ethel Tasmin 28 yrs a button hole hand, Charles Heathcote 25 yrs ex serviceman, unemployed. His father John later lived 17 Albert Grove, Lenton.

Military History

Private Charles Heathcote Neep enlisted at Leicester, he served with the 1st battalion Northumberland Fusiliers, he was killed in action on 27th October 1914, having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Le Touret Memorial, France.
