Frank Palmer Selby

Frank Palmer Selby was born in 1892 at Sutton on Trent and was the son of Benjamin George Selby an auctioneer and Fanny Selby, née Johnson of 16, Winchilsea Avenue, Newark. His father Benjamin George was born in 1861 at Lincoln, his mother Fanny Johnson was born in 1864 at Sutton on Trent, they were married in 1888, their marriage was recorded in the Southwell Registration district, they went on to have the following children all born in Sutton on Trent, Arthur Benjamin b1890, Frank Palmer b1892, Kathleen May b1894, Winifred b1896, Henry Howard b1897, George Fred b1899 and Edith Marion b1904. In the 1911 census the family are living at New Barn Farm, Grassthorpe Road, Sutton on Trent and are shown as Benjamin George 50 yrs an auctioneer , he is living with his wife Fanny 47 yrs and their children, Arthur Benjamin 21 yrs a clerk assisting his father, Frank Palmer 19 yrs a draughtsman, Kathleen May 17 yrs at home, Winifred 15 yrs a scholar, George Fred 12 yrs a scholar and Edith Marion 6 yrs, also living with the family is Ada Hall 20 yrs a general servant. His probate was proven (with will) on 8th February 1916 at Nottingham and shows him as Frank Palmer Selby of Sutton on Trent, Nottinghamshire, Private in H.M.Army, died 25th August 1915 in France, his effects of £190, 16 shillings and 5 pence were left to Benjamin George Selby an auctioneer.
