Military History

Private George Norman enlisted at Nottingham and initially served with the service number 82178 in the Lincolnshire Regiment, he was later transferred to the 10th Labour Company of the Lincolnshire Regiment and eventually to the 49th Labour Corps where he served with the service number 29137. He died of wounds at 48th Casualty Clearing Station on 11th November 1918 and is buried in Busigny Communal Cemetery Extension, France grave reference II.B.31
