Lance Corporal William Buckley enlisted at Nottingham whilst residing at Basford, he initially served with the service number 22159 in the Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He was serving with the 1/5th battalion South Staffordshire Regiment he was killed in action on 12th October 1918 and is buried in Busigny Communal Cemetery Extension, France grave reference III.B.36
