Arthur Henry Sharp was born in 1896 he was the son of Thomas Sharp a shepherd and Mary Sharp née Carter of 37 Church Street, Weedon Northamptonshire. Thomas Sharp was born in 1855 at Handley, Mary Carter was born in 1852 at Stowe, they were married in 1876 their marriage was recorded in Northamptonshire, they went on to have 9 children. In 1911 his parents are living at 37 Church Street, Weedon Northamptonshire, Thomas is 56 years and a shepherd, he is living with his wife Mary 59 yrs and their son Arthur 14 yrs a general farm labourer.

Military History

Private Arthur Henry Sharp enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 2nd battalion Grenadier Guards, he landed in France on 8th September 1915 and was killed in action on 9th October 1917 having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Tyne Cot Memorial Belgium on panel 9
