Family History

Robert McCabe (junior) was born in 1887 at Liverpool, he was the son of Robert McCabe (senior) a bricklayer and Ann Jane McCabe née Hutton of 6 Swanston Avenue, Walton, Liverpool. Robert McCabe was born in 1861 at Manchester, Ann Jane Hutton was born in 1863 at Liverpool, they were married in 1884 at West Derby, Lancashire, they went on to have 7 children, sadly 3 died in infancy or early childhood, their surviving children were Letitia b1884, Gertrude b1892 and Ada b1901. In 1911 the family were living at 6 Swanton Avenue, Walton, Liverpool, Robert McCabe (senior) is 50 yrs and a bricklayer, he is living with his wife Ann Jane 48 yrs and their 4 children including Robert (junior) 24 yrs a brick layer.

Military History

Robert according to the Soldiers died in the Great war index , was born in Liverpool and resided in Treswell and enlisted in Derby. He was a Lance Corporal in the 7th battalion Lincolnshire Regiment with service number 30700 . he died on 14th January 1918 whilst in No 6 London General Hospital. His body was returned to his family at Tresewell where he is buried in Treswell St John churchyard (between east end of church and road).
