Harry was born in 1888 the son of William a fireman in an iron foundry and Isabel Borwick. (née Ducksbury). In 1891 Harry lived with his parents and siblings John W, Charles, Anne E, Albert, Maude and Susannah at 94 Highgate House Kendal. In 1911 he was boarding at New Street Broughton in Furness.
