Family History
John Richard and Martha Alice Priest had a son, George William, who was born in Haxey, Lincolnshire in 1894. They later had a daughter, Hilda Elizabeth, born in Finningley. In 1911, the parents and daughter were living in Blaxton, a village adjoining Finningley. It was probably their son, G W Priest, who was killed in the war and on Finningley's Roll of Honour as well as Blaxton's memorial which is inscribed, "G W Priest – M. T. Co. – age 25"
