Family History

William Hardwick married Sarah Ann Ward in 1993 in Lincolnshire. Although William was a farmer, they travelled around , living in Epworth, Sandtoft Lincolnshire and Dewsbury, Harrogate and Blaxton Yorkshire. Their first son, John William was born in 1895 in Lincolnshire and by 1898, Joseph Arthur was born whilst living at Blaxton, Yorks. There was a gap of 11 years before their next child was born which was a female called Doris. By 1911 they had settled down at Blaxton near Finningley. The couple must have been devastated from the outcome of the war. Not only did they endure the loss of a son, but both of their sons were killed within 3 months of each other in 1918.
