Family History

Frederick was born at Bawtry in 1900 the son of James a solicitors clerk and Matilda Bee. In the 1911 census the family are living at Austerfield and Frederick is 11 years of age and a scholar and he has six siblings

Military History

He was called up at Pontefract on 4th January 1918 and after originally serving with the East Yorkshire Regiment with service number 38779 was transferred to the 15th battalion Durham Light Infantry and joined them in France. He died of wounds received in action on 18th September 1918 aged 18 years and 11 months.

Extra Information

He is buried at Five Points Cemetery,Lechelle,France He had two brothers serving in the Army , Arthur and Ernest, Ernest was wounded and Arthur after two years in hospital suffering from an affection of the spine was permanently invalided home.
