Family History

James Sidney Lambley was born in 1895 at Kimberley he was the son of William a stoker and Emily Lambley née Moulds and the brother of Arthur, Horace, Julia Doris, Herbert Fred, Gladys and Harriet Lambley. William was born in 1868 in Lincolnshire, Emily Moulds was born in 1871 at Somerby, Lincolnshire, they were married in 1891 their marriage was recorded in the Grantham registration district, they went on to have 11 children, sadly 3 died in infancy or early childhood. In 1911 the family lived on High Street Kimberley William 43 yrs is a stoker he is living with his wife Emily 40 yrs and their 8 children including James Sidney 16 yrs a coal min road repairer

Military History

Private James Sidney Lambley enlisted at Kimberley, he initially served with the service number 116698 in the Sherwood Foresters Regiment. He was serving with the 9th battalion Essex Regiment when he died of wounds, he is buried at Fins New British Cemetery 8.C.6
