He was the son of Frederick and Harriet Chambers and the brother of Harry, Albert, Frederick Ernest, Arthur, Lois, Enoch, John, Mary and Martha Gladys Chambers. In 1911 they lived at 24 Noel Street Kimberley Nottinghamshire.
Sapper Frank Chambers, served with the 257th Tunnelling Company Royal Engineers, he died of wounds on 16th July 1916. He is buried in Coxyde Military Cemetery, Belgium.Grave Reference: I J 42
In memoriam published 16th July 1918 in the Nottingham Evening Post :- “CHAMBERS. – In ever-loving memory of Sapper Frank Chambers, R.E., who died of wounds in France [sic] July 16th, 1916. He passed away early in life, he was loving, kind, and true, a credit to those he left behind, and was loved by all he knew.
