Stanley Varley

Stanley Varley was born in 1899 at Greasley and was the son of John a coal miner hewer and Emma Varley née Hallam of 55 High Street, Bentley, Doncaster. His father John was born in 1864 at Selston, his mother Emma Hallam was born in 1877 at Greasley, they were married in 1896 their marriage was recorded in the Basford registration district, they went on to have the following children, Stanley b1889, Maud b1905 and John b1910 all were born at Greasley. In the 1911 census the family are living at Walker Street, Greasley and are shown as John 47 yrs a coal miner hewer, he is living with his wife Emma 34 yrs and their children Stanley 12 yrs a scholar, Maud 6 yrs of age and John 11 months old.
