Joseph William Storer

Joseph William Storer was born in 1892 at Heanor and was the son of Joseph a coal miner hewer and Mary Ann Storer née Lee of Barker Lane Giltbrook, Nottinghamshire His father Joseph was born in 1852 at Radford, his mother Mary Ann Lee was born in 1854 at Staveley, they were married in 1873 at Nottingham and went on to have the following children, Edith b1882, Ernest b1885 and William b1889 and Joseph b1892. In the 1911 census the family are living at Barker Lane Giltbrook and are shown as Joseph 59 yrs a coal miner hewer, he is living with his wife Mary Ann 57 yrs and their children, Joseph 19 yrs a coal miner at coal face and Mary Ann 12 yrs a scholar. Joseph married Beatrice May Searley on 26th May 1915 at Buxton Road, Chapel Huddersfield, they lived at Wormalds Road, King Street, Huddersfield, they went on to have s a son Joseph born 28th November 1916. Following Joseph's death his widow Beatrice was awarded a pension of 20 shillings and 5 pence a week which commenced on 13th May 1918.
