William Robinson was born in 1886 at Balderton In the 1901 census he was living with John and Mary Hindson of Coddington Lane Balderton Newark. He married his wife Lily Mary Barker (born 1888 Caunton) in 1907 at Newark, they went on to have two children, James Henry born 16th April 1909 and Maud b13th April 1912, his wife died on 19th June 1916 and according to his pension record card, their guardian was Eliza Robinson of Church Lane, Newark.

Military History

Private William Robinson enlisted at Kimberley and served with the 5th battalion Border Regiment. He died of wounds on 24th April 1917 and is buried at Bucquoy Road Cemetery, Ficheux, Pas de Calais, France.
