Family History

He was the son of James and Susannah Coxon and the brother of Emma, John, Anne, William, Lucy, Henry, Peter and Isaac Coxon. In 1881 the family lived on The City and in 1891 at 3 Dagmar Grove (both Beeston Nottingham). He was the husband of Alice (née Boxall) Coxon of 36 Seaford Road Copnor Portsmouth. He was the father of Alice and James Coxon.

Military History

He joined the Royal Navy as an ERA 4th Class on 3 September 1898 on a 12 year engagement which he extended on 3 September 1910. He was killed in action in German East Africa. Dar Es Salaam War Cemetery, East Africa Grave Reference: VI J 25
