Employment, Education or Hobbies He was educated at the Nether Street School, leaving at 13 to find work in the Angular Hole Factory. Aged 15 before he joined the 17th Company Boys Brigade at the premises of the Anglo Scotian Mills on Villa Street Beeston. In 1911, he was a brick layer's apprentice.
Family History

George was the son of James and Susannah Coxon and the brother of Peter, Isaac, Joseph Coxon and Anne Robinson (née Coxon). In 1911 they lived at 15, Willioughby Street and then 4 King Street and later Humber Road (all Beeston Nottingham).

Military History

Coxon was killed as the battalion sustained heavy casualties on the Somme while moving forward to Leuze Wood and during the attack down south-east side of Bouleaux Wood at 1.40pm on 15/9/1916.
