Allen Jackson was born in 1895 at Caistor and was the son of George a general labourer and Annie Jackson née Maddison of Caistor, Lincolnshire, His father George was born in 1856 at Thorne, Yorkshire, his mother Annie Maddison was born in 1866 at Caistor, they were married in 1885 their marriage was recorded in the Caistor registration district, they went on to have the following children, Nelly b1890, Allen b1895, Daisy b1898, Violet b1903 and May b1906 all were born at Caistor. In the 1911 census the family are living at Caistor and are shown as George Jackson 55 yrs a general labourer, he is living with his wife Annie 45 yrs and their children, Daisy 13 yrs a scholar, Violet 8 yrs and May 5 yrs of age. In the same 1911 census we find that Allen has left the family home, he is living at 358 Weelsby Street, Grimsby, he is living with his aunt and uncle and they are shown as Ernest Bogg 30 yrs an oil miller, he is living with his wife Emma Bogg 35 yrs and their nephew Allen Jackson 14 yrs an errand lad.

Military History

Private Allen Jackson enlisted on 17th April 1916 at Derby, he served with the 11th battalion Sherwood Forester Regiment. He died of wounds on 22nd August 1916 and is buried at Bailleul Communal Cemetery Extension.
