Military History

Sapper Arthur Wood served in South Africa Campaign and received a Long Service and Good Conduct Medal (CWGC). he enlisted into the Army on 15th February 1912, and served with the Royal Engineers. He was discharged from the army on 12th March 1918 having seen service abroad. Issued with a Silver War Badge number 371540. He died on 1st December 1919 of stomach ulcers and is buried at Mansfield (Nottingham Road) Cemetery
