Robert Osborne

Robert Osborne was born in 1881 he was baptised on 25th May 1881 at Clay Cross he was the son of George a labourer and Maria Osborne née Fletcher of Oakenthorpe, Alfreton George was born in 1836 at Birmingham, Maria Fletcher was born in 1842 she died in 1911 aged 69 yrs, they were married on 21st August 1859 at North Wingfield they went on to have 11 children, sadly 5 were to die in infancy or early childhood. In 1911 his parents are living at Oakenthorpe, Alfreton, George 75 yrs is a retired labourer, he is living with his wife Maria 69 yrs and their son William 46 years a colliery banksman. Robert married Sarah Bee (born 26th March 1881) they were married in 1913 their marriage was recorded in the Worksop registration district, they lived at 69 Old Mill Lane, Mansfield Woodhouse and had a son Leslie Robert born 8th October 1916. Commencing 30th October 1916 his widow was awarded a pension of 25 shillings and 2 pence a week After his father's death in late 1916. Sarah Bacon had married Bob Bee in 1899 and was widowed in 1910, she married for a third time in 1919 to Robert Burn ( all 3 husband's were called Robert/Bob)
