Jonathon Mould was born in 1897 at Langwith he was the son of Ernest Benjamin a colliery deputy and Elizabeth Mould née Mawkes of 68 Moorfield Lane, Langwith Ernest Benjamin was born in 1871 at Wirksworth, Derbyshire, Elizabeth Mawkes was born in 1870 at Codnor Park, they were married on 18th July 1891 at Bolsover, they went on to have 8 children, sadly two died in infancy or early childhood. In 1911 the family lived at of 268 Portland Street, Langwith, Ernest Benjamin is 40 yrs and is a colliery deputy, he is living with his wife Elizabeth 41 yrs and 4 of their children including Jonathon 14 yrs an assistant onsetter at a colliery.

Military History

Private Jonathon Mould enlisted at Newark whilst residing at Mansfield Woodhouse, he initially served with the service number 3660 in the Sherwood Foresters Regiment, he was killed in action on 9th September 1918 whilst serving with the 1/2 battalion Manchester Regiment. Having no known grave his name is commemorated on the Vis-En-Artois Memorial, France.
