Family History

Thomas James Musson was born in 1889 he was the son of Thomas a Midland Railway Locomotive driver and Mary Amelia Musson née Banks of 1 Stone Row, Berry Hill Lane, Mansfield. Thomas was born in Nottingham in 1868, Mary Amelia Banks was born in 1868 at Bow, London, they were married in 1887 at Nottingham, they went on to have 8 children. In 1911 the family were living at 81 Nottingham Road, Mansfield Thomas 43 yrs is a locomotive driver for the Midland Railway, he is living with his wife Mary Amelia 43 yrs and 6 of their children including Thomas James 22 yrs a plumbers labourer.

Military History

Private Thomas James Musson, enlisted at Nottingham whilst residing at Mansfield, he served with the 7th Battalion Training Reserve, formerly 9th Battalion East Yorkshire Regiment, he died in a military hospital at Ripon on 6th March 1918. He is buried in Mansfield (Nottingham Road) Cemetery.
