Family History

Parents: George and Eliza Ann Jepson of 19 Goldsmith Street, Mansfield. Pollie married Albert Johnson during the summer of 1918, however she died on 05/11/1918 at her parents home of Tubercular Meningitis. Albert's address on the death certificate is shown has 12 Pheasant Hill, Mansfield.

Military History

Pollie was a member of Queen Mary's Army Axillary Corp. QMAA was recruited to cover non-combat roles such as clerks, drivers, and canteen staff, and they could serve both home and abroad. Pollie served from 30/07/1917 to 30/08/1918 when she was discharged as medically unfit. She was awarded the Silver War Badge, number B9114.

Extra Information

Although Pollie had married she is listed on the memorial under her maiden name. On her parents headstone in Nottingham Road Cemetery she is again listed as Pollie Jepson, not Johnson. The headstone states she died from the effect of war service in France.
