Family History

Florence Pridmore was the daughter of HW and Florence Harper and the sister of Herbert, Samuel J, Edith, Doris, Joseph, William Henry, Clarence and Verdun Harper. In 1921, they lived at 7, Bunbury Street, Meadows, Nottingham. During the summer of 1935, Florence married Herbert Tomlinson Pridmore, a beef and pork butcher’s manager, at Nottingham. Their daughter Shirley was born 2/12/1936 and in 1939 they lived at 32, Rutland Road, Carlton, Nottingham. A second daughter, Ann, was born during the third quarter of 1940. Herbert was lost at sea 28/6/1942 when serving as a Royal Artillery gunner aboard a torpedoed merchant vessel.
