Family History

Louis Alexander Maxian Limon was born in 1877 at Nottingham, he was the son of Cornelius Limon a carpenter and joiner and Elizabeth (Betsy) Ann Limon née Crow of 53 Exchange Road, West Bridgford, Nottingham. Cornelius was born in 1852 at Legsby, Lincolnshire, Bestsy Ann was born in 1854 at Middle Rasen, Lincolnshire, they were married on 17th June 1877 at St Mark’s, Nottingham, they had 9 children, sadly two were to die in infancy or early childhood. In the 1911 census the family were living at 53 Exchange Road, West Bridgford, Cornelius 58 yrs is a carpenter and joiner, he is living with his wife Betsy Ann 56 yrs and their children, Louis 34 yrs a joiner, Rupert 26 yrs a joiner, Rosetta 23 yrs a clerk, Violet 20 yrs a blouse maker, Jesse 17 yrs a blouse maker and Florence 15 yrs a scholar.

Military History

Private Louis Alexander Maxian Limon enlisted at Nottingham, he served with the 2/4th battalion Royal Scots Fusiliers, he died of syncopse on 12th May 1916 at Chelmsford, he is buried at the Nottingham General Cemetery.
