Family History
Known as Billy, he was the son of Edward and Eleanor Laws and the brother of Edward and Fred (who both served and returned), Eleanor, Tom, Bernard Courtney (DoW 25/5/1915), Florence and Ida Laws. In 1901 they lived at 10 Elm Tree Avenue and in 1911 at 85 Henry Road (both West Bridgford Nottingham).
Military History
Billy Laws enlisted as a private on 11/8/1914. He also served as an nco before being commissioned on 9/9/1915. His parents were notified of Laws's death by a brother officer Guy Tutin (see photo).
