Family History

'William Allcock' was an alias. This man's real name was Charles Henry E. Robinson. He was born in 1883 the second child of Joseph and Ann Robinson who were both from Cambridgeshire. Married in 1876, Joseph and Ann lived in 1881 at 37, Chatham Street, Bulwell, Nottingham with Joseph's brother Samuel and his wife Jane. Charles was baptised 26/12/1883 at St John's church Bulwell. The family was then living at 15, Padley Street, Bulwell. In 1891, Charles's siblings were Susana (b.1879), Joseph (1885) and James (1889). They lived in Chatham Terrace, 3, Chatham Street. Joseph and Ann had two more children - Alice (1896) and Joseph John (1898). By 1901, the family had moved to 35, Chatham Street. They were still there in 1911 but Charles was not listed on the census. Joseph, Ann and Alice occupied the same house in 1921. Charles married Ann Elizabeth Moore at Nottingham in 1906 and they had two daughters Aggie (1907) and Ivy (1908). Their relationship apparently did not last because in 1911 the girls and Ann Elizabeth were living with her parents and other family members at 51, Merchant Street, Bulwell. Charles Robinson was not listed at this address at the time.
